Drivers warned of diversions after crash

Thursday, 5pm: Drivers face major diversions after an accident between a car and lorry at Swineshead Bridge.

All traffic is being diverted at the A17/A15 Holdingham roundabout onto the A15 to Osbournby roundabout and onto the A52.

The A17 is also closed at Bicker Bar roundabout and at the junction with the A1121 at Boardsides, with traffic being diverted onto the A52.

The diversions are expected to remain in place until after rush hour.

The accident happened at about 1.20pm.

It is believed one of three people travelling in a Peugeot car was airlifted to hospital. The driver of the Mercedes HGV is believed to have been in his 40s and from Norfolk.

Thursday, 3.30pm: A DRIVER has been airlifted to hospital after a crash at Swineshead Bridge at 1.20pm this afternoon (Thursday)

Emergency services were called to the junction of the A17 and A1121 following a collision between a Peugeot and a Mercedes HGV.

The air ambulance attended and took one of the casualties to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.
