When police stopped a BMW car which was recorded as having no insurance, they found the driver was under the influence of drugs, a court has heard.

Darren Williams, 26, of St Thomas Road, Spalding admitted drug driving and without insurance when he appeared before District Judge Peter Veits sitting at Boston Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday).

Prosecuting, Marie Stace said Williams was stopped on the A16 at Spalding at 11.20pm on June 26 because the car was uninsured and he gave a positive drugs wipe with a reading of 4.7 microgrammes of cannabis, the legal limit being two.
