A driver from Spalding ignored a red light in a car without insurance, a court has learned

A Spalding motorist jumped the lights at a level crossing in a car that she had no insurance for, magistrates have heard.

Anna Lidia Kowalska (25), of Oakley Drive, admitted failing to obey traffic lights at Swineshead Bridge level crossing during a hearing at Boston Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday)

Prosecuting evidence showed that Kowalska was seen driving through a red light just a second after the traffic signal had changed, although the barriers were not yet down.

Daven Naghen, mitigating, said Kowalska had hesitated at first but then decided to go as the barriers were still up.

Mr Naghen added that Kowalska, who also admitted to driving without insurance, believed she had paid by direct debit and thought the insurance was

in place.

However, the renewal notice had gone to a previous address and, as a result, she been unable to fill it in.
