Teenagers in Flinders Founders at Donington held a celebration day after their teen park was transformed with cash from the Lottery and Bicker Wind Farm.

A £10,000 windfall from the Lottery's Awards for All has seen the installation of eight fitness stations, creating an outdoor gym.

And £5,000 from Bicker Wind Farm has enabled the group to create a picnic area, install fencing and put up a noticeboard.

Flinders Founders secretary Margaret Wright said the fitness stations are open to all, mums and dads as well as teenagers, and people are already making good use of them.

She said Thomas Cowley High School has a walking club and members are visiting the park to get a little extra exercise.

"The Teen Park looks absolutely amazing, " she said. "We have done an awful lot of work and generally the kids look after it ever so well."

While it's built to withstand the weather, the outdoor gym is pretty similar to the traditional equipment found in indoor gyms and exercises include twisting, stepping and running.

Margaret said: "It's actually been extremely well used, by kids and by mums and dads."
