THE skills of Donington firefighters were severely tested on Saturday when they tackled a major charity fundraising drive.
The crew donned their uniforms and put high-tech fire-fighting equipment to the test, using buckets and sponges in their contribution to the national car wash in aid of the Firefighters’ Charity.
The crew got into a lather while friends and family supported the troops (and hungry supporters) with a cake sale, all in aid of the charity that provides treatment and support services for current and ex-firefighters.
Their efforts raised £189.55 and would have been even more but the crew had to attend a fire. Watch manager Peter Holstead thanked everyone who supported them.
