A TALENTED teenage performer is hoping that treading the boards with Stamford Shakespeare Company this summer can help set her on the way to the big time.
Domenique Fragale (17) is playing the role of Dorcas in The Winter’s Tale, starting from June 14 at Tolethorpe Hall near Stamford and going through to August 21.
The summer season comes after she recently filmed an advert for mobile phone giant Nokia, and the Spalding High School sixth former says she is “nervous” but excited about the chance to appear on stage.
She said: “The first time I went on stage at Tolethorpe I auditioned on stage in the open air – it was really overwhelming.
“There is such a range of cast of all ages – you just listen to what they have done in the past and think I’d like to do that.
“It’s good to get experience and advice from them.
“My ambition is to go into theatre, film, television – anything like that.”
Domenique bagged the crown of Spalding’s first ever prom queen last year and featured in the anti-bullying film Wednesday’s Child, which won a Diana Award.
She is currently preparing to take her final grade eight London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) qualification and is looking at options for further education.
