THE waste freighters will be at the groundsman’s shed at the Snowden Field on Saturday, from 8am until 11am. One takes household waste and the other takes green waste for recycling.

THE last Monday evening walk on September 10 will be at Deeping Lakes. Meet at 6.30pm outside the former St Guthlac School to car share.

CROWLAND Women’s Institute is holding its ploughman’s harvest supper and social evening on Tuesday, September 11 at the British Legion Hall at 7.30pm. Competition is Tea for Two – Co-operative.

AFTERNOON Tea Dance on Wednesday, September 12, from 2pm until 4pm. £4.50 including afternoon tea and raffle at the British Legion Hall. Music by Eric Cloud. Proceeds to Sue Ryder, Thorpe Hall in memory of June Cooke.

CROWLAND Salvation Army are holding a concert called Easy Listening Music performed by the Empingham Mission Band on Saturday, September 15 at 7pm in the Salvation Army Hall. Tickets £3.50 on the door or reserve on 07726 580113.


DONINGTON Youth Club reopens after the summer break tomorrow from 6.30pm-8.30pm for children aged seven to ten. Also open on Mondays from 7pm-9pm for children aged ten to 19. Please note that if your child has special needs they can continue to attend the club up to age 25.


GOSBERTON Baptists flower, harvest and craft festival opens tomorrow at 10am through to 4.30pm. Also on Saturday for the same times and on Sunday morning coffee is served at 10am followed by a service at 10.30am and then the church is open for viewing from 2pm to 4.30pm. Refreshments are on sale throughout and there will be various competitions.

GOSBERTON Ladies’ Circle resumes on Thursday, September 13 at 7.30pm with a talk by Olympic torch bearer Amanda Scase. Entrance fee £3 per meeting.

GOSBERTON Women’s Institute has an open meeting on Tuesday at 7.15pm when Judy Theobald will give a talk about her life in the media. Entrance £3 includes refreshments.


GOSBERTON Risegate Methodist Church has a harvest festival on Sunday at 2.30pm followed by tea. The harvest continues on Monday at 7pm with an auction of harvest produce and a supper.


HOLBEACH Cemetery Chapels Open Day is on Sunday from 11am-4pm. As part of the Lincolnshire Heritage event the Victorian chapels in Park Road will be open to the public. The theme this year is Travel and Transport and there will be a display of some interesting memorabilia of this area from the early part of the 20th century. Members of the committee will be available to explain the aims for the future of these buildings and the progress made during the past year. Light refreshments will be available.


TODAY there is a public meeting at 7.30pm in the village hall to discuss refurbishment. All are welcome.


MOULTON Mill will be closed to the public on Saturday, September 22, due to a private function. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

The AGM of Moulton Windmill Project Ltd, will take place on Thursday, September 27 at 7.30pm at Moulton Windmill. Any items for the agenda to be notified to the Company Secretary, Janet Prescott, c/o Moulton Windmill, High Street, Moulton PE12 6QB, giving seven days’ notice.


LOOK out for The Lincolnshire Old Churches Trust sponsored cycle ride and Stride which takes place on Saturday. The Rev Paul Hardingham is doing the ride and the sponsor form is in the church, or telephone 01775 840803 if you wish to ride with him.

ON Thursday, September 13 Pinchbeck Mother’s Union has a harvest service, supper and auction. This will be held in the church hall at 7.30pm. Cost £1.50, visitors very welcome, please let Janet Bettinson (01775 766170) know if you wish to attend.

THERE is a scarecrow competition as part of the harvest festival. This is on Saturday, September 22– please bring scarecrows between 10am and 11am to St.Mary’s Church. Judging at 11.30am. Coffee and cakes available in church at this time.


ON Saturday Broad Street Methodist Church is holding a nostalgia day from 10.30am to 3.30pm to launch its Vision21 building project and as part of the Heritage Open Days in Lincolnshire. Memorabilia will be on display in the church and hall and present members look forward to meeting the general public and in particular anyone who is part of the church’s history. Refreshments, including snack lunches, will be available all day.


A WALK will take place in the Wansford area of Northamptonshire this Sunday, starting from the picnic area off the A47 near the A1 at 10.30am. Ring Susie on 01775 630667 for more details.


ALAN Bycraft of Swineshead will the speaker at the Surfleet Ladybirds’ Club meeting on Tuesday, September 11. Members meet in the Fraiser Room next to the church at 7.30pm. Alan’s talk is on Hedgerow Foraging – making the most of free food available in the countryside. Non-members welcome. Membership is £3.50 for the year.


WEST Pinchbeck Village Show is on Saturday from 3.30pm to 5pm with presentation of prizes at 4.30pm. Items for the show can be brought to the village hall between 9.30am and noon on Saturday. 20p per entry, children’s entries free.


BINGO takes place in the village hall on Saturday at 7pm.

THE village hall committee meets at 8pm on Tuesday in the village hall.

THE mobile library will be in the village hall car park from 10.30am to 11am on Wednesday.
