CROWLAND Youth Awards. Parents are reminded that the Parish Council office in Hall Street still has photographs of the young people collecting their certificates – please call in and collect the free photo of your child. The office is open 9.30-11am every weekday.

WASTE freighters will be at the groundsman shed at the Snowden Field on Saturday, 8-11am. One takes household waste and the other green waste for recycling.

MONDAY evening walk on August 13 will be at Crown Lakes, Farcet. Meet at 6.30pm outside the former St Guthlac School to car share.

Gedney Drove End

WELCOME Club will meet at the village hall today at 7.30pm. The speaker will be Ann Barnes with a talk entitled ‘Keep it clean’ and the competition will be for a pretty towel.

EVENSONG will be held at Holy Trinity Church this Sunday at 5pm and not 4pm.


PARISH Council meets in the Public Hall on Monday at 7.30pm

GOSBERTON Good Companion’s Club has its harvest festival in the Public Hall on Tuesday, starting with a lunch at 12.30pm followed by entertainment.

METHODIST Church is not having a junior church in August, resuming on the second and fourth Sundays in September.

HOLBEACH Town Band’s next monthly bingo is at the WI Hall tomorrow.

A new vicar has been appointed to All Saints’ Church. The Rev Rosamund Seal has taken up the position. She has been vicar for Moulton and Weston but has been conducting weddings and funerals as Holbeach has been without a vicar for several months.

EVERY Saturday morning tea and coffee are served in the Mary Bass room at All Saints’ Church from 10am to noon and everyone is welcome.

REDEEMED the Elloe East Drama Group is heading into its fourth year and, following on from last year’s successful production, there will be another group devised piece based on a collection of Old Testament stories brought up to date through favourite TV shows and songs. The main rehearsal week is from Monday, August 20, 10am-4pm each day in Long Sutton church. Four performances will be given in October, with one given at All Saints’ on October 10. ALL Saints’ Mothers’ Union has a Pram Service on Wednesday, August 15, at 2.15pm in the Mary Bass room. There will be a story, a prayer, an activity and a cup of tea. All parents and toddlers welcome.


ON Thursday, August 16, the Parkinson’s UK branch has a research team speaker in the village hall at 10.30am.

Saracen’s Head

THE tea party in the village hall on July 24, organised by the Flower Club, raised £1,115 for the St Barnabas Hospice.

LADIES Group will meet on August 29 at the village hall for a beetle drive (depending on weather).
