CROWLAND Wildlife Group will be taking an evening walk in Castor Hanglands tomorrow. Meet outside the cafe in North Street by 5.30pm to arrange transport for those that need it. More information from Philip Jackson on 01733 210680.

AS from Tuesday, May 7, solo at the Snooker Club will start at 6.45pm. Whist is as usual on Wednesday nights at 7.30pm.


SALVATION Army Band will be in concert this Saturday at 7.30pm as part of Fleet Baptist Church’s flower festival. Tickets are £6 including refreshments and are available on 01406 424556 or 01406 426781. The flower festival runs from Saturday, to Monday, May 6, 10am-5pm daily.

THE Methodist Church flower festival opens on Thursday, through to Monday, May 6 from 10am to 6pm. This year’s theme is ‘Creation’. At 10.30am on Sunday, May 5, there will be an All Age Worship and at 6pm a Songs of Praise.

THE flower and craft festival at St Peter and St Paul’s Church runs through to Monday from 10am to 5pm. This year’s theme is “A great day out”. Refreshments are being served and there are plants, bric-a-brac, craft, cake stalls, etc.

LADIES Group will meet at the Methodist Chapel on Thursday at 2pm when the speaker will be Freda Minns with a talk about her visit to Buckingham Palace in 2012 to receive her MBE.


A SONGS of Praise is being held as park of All Saints’ Church flower festival this Sunday at 6.30pm. The Pride of the Birches Accordion Band will be performing at the service and will be marking from the community centre at 6.15pm. The band is due to take part in the Spalding Flower Parade and the Moulton Chapel Parade.

HANDMADE in Moulton, an arts and crafts event, starts this Friday at the Methodist Church in Bell Lane. The event is open 10am to 5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and 10am to 4pm on bank holiday Monday.

SPALDING and District Flower Lovers’ Club will meet tomorrow at Spalding Grammar School at 7.15pm with Anne Coley as demonstrator.

PREPARATIONS for this year’s flower festival are well under way at Broad Street Methodist Church. The theme is ‘Our church – our vision’. The festival opens at 10am on Friday until 4pm on Tuesday, May 7. Tomorrow the speaker at Midweekers at 7.30pm is the Rev Margaret Mwailu, who will talk about life in Kenya.


THURLBY Home and School Association has a garage sale and car boot sale on Sunday, May 12. The garage sale will be around the village of Thurlby and Northorpe from 10am to 12.30pm followed by the car boot on Lawrance Park, Crown Lane, from 2pm to 4pm. Garage sale is £5 per garage and if you would like to take part call Claire on 07918 173144 to ensure your details are on the garage sale map. Car boot pitch is £5. For more information about the car boot call Diane on 07747 607774 (no need to book). Refreshments, parking and toilet facilities available at the car boot.

West Pinchbeck

ST Bartholomew’s flower festival runs from tomorrow until Monday, 10am-5.30pm daily. Light refreshments available throughout, including freshly made sandwiches. Stalls include produce, plants, books and bric-a-brac. Any donations of produce, books, cakes or good quality bric-a-brac can be taken to the church at any time. On Friday at 7pm there will be the popular Festival of Praise, including songs, poems and the congregation’s choice of hymns. Tea/coffee to follow.

Whaplode Drove

FOLLOWING the success of the last venture, when £66.75 was raised towards the church room refurbishment, a tea and cakes afternoon will be held in the church porch on Saturday, 2-4pm.
