SATURDAY Strollers intend walking from Wadenhoe to Lyvden and return in a big loop this Saturday. It’s a beautiful walk of over six miles mainly over fields and through woodland and depending on what the weather has been doing, could be muddy, so please dress accordingly. Meet at the former St Guthlac School by 10.25am if you’d like to join in and to arrange transport for those that need it and bring a picnic lunch.

CROWLAND Cares annual meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 24, in the library, 3.30-6pm. This is an open meeting which all residents of Crowland are welcome to attend.

PARTY in the Park is this Saturday from 11am on Abbots Field. There will be live bands, circus skills workshop, bouncy castles and much more.

DONINGTON Youth Club is becoming a victim of its own success, it urgently needs helpers otherwise it will have to close. THERE is no bingo at the Ruby Hunt Centre tomorrow. The next one will be on August 2 at 7.30pm.

ON Saturday, July 27, at 10.30am in the church hall a meeting will take place for anybody interested in Sunday School or youth work, just drop in for an informal chat on what you would like to happen.

THE next roller disco at Donington Community Centre is on Tuesday, July 23. First session is 6.30-8pm for beginners and families and the second session is 8.15-9.30pm for advanced skaters. Entry is £3.80. Skate hire £1.20 or you can bring your own skates. Refreshments available.

SHORTS and Shades Summer Party is on Saturday, August 3. Admission £4. If you are wearing shorts and shades the admission price will be £3. ID wristbands will be issued so if you are over 18 please bring ID. Suitable for ages 14 years - adults. DJ Dan will be playing the latest hits.

MEMBERS of Holy Trinity Church thank everyone who supported the family day on Sunday. Thanks to the stallholders and those who kindly gave donations towards this very successful event which raised £427.

HOLY Communion will be held this Sunday in Holy Trinity Church at 9.30am.


NEXT film show afternoon at the Gosberton Baptist Church is at 2pm on Monday 22nd July when films showing will be of Bournemouth, Salisbury and Cambridge. Admission donation of £2 includes afternoon tea. All welcome.

JULY meeting of the Royal British Legion is in the church hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm.

Gosberton Clough and Risegate

GOSBERTON Risegate Methodist Church has a craft club on a Monday evening, 7-9pm at £1.50 per meeting. On a Wednesday keep fit is held at the Risegate Chapel at 7.15pm. £1 a session. Then the Gosberton Risegate Silver Link Club meets in the Risegate Methodist on alternative Wednesdays from 2pm to 4pm. Anyone attending any if these clubs for the first time should contact Sheila Lee on 01775 840836.


MEDIEVAL dance at Holbeach Football Club on Wednesday evenings 7-8.30pm. This is a family inclusive dance class exploring historical dance in a fresh format. ALL Saints’ Church has a summer fete on Saturday, 10am-noon, in the churchyard. Cakes, tombola, books, raffles, bric-a-brac etc. Games and races for the children.

SPALDING Ramblers will be walking near the village of Tealby in the Lincolnshire Wolds this Sunday. Meet near the church in Tealby for a 10am start. Ring 01775 767267 for more details.

SPALDING East Townswomen’s Guild meet on Tuesday at the Gleed School (boys’ library) at 7 pm. The speaker will Annie Best from Spalding Fire Service and the competition is for a candle stick. Visitors welcome.

BINGO will be held at St Paul’s Church Hall, Fulney, on Monday at 7.30pm.

BROAD Street Methodist Church is holding a coffee morning and snack lunches on Saturday, 10am to 1pm. Cakes, Fairtrade, books and jigsaws will be on sale. Services on Sunday at 9am and 10.30am will be in the hall during work on the church.

West Pinchbeck

STAFF and pupils from St Bartholomew’s Primary School will be in church for their end of year Leavers’ Service on Tuesday at 9.15am. Everyone is welcome to go along and join them. Refreshments will be available for anyone able to stay after the service.

THIRSTY on a Thursday continues through the summer in St Bartholomew’s on a Thursday between 9.30 and 11am. The church is open for anyone to go along for a coffee and a chat. A short Eucharist Service is held at 10am on the first Thursday of each month.

THE monthly coffee morning is on July 27 in St Bartholomew’s, from 10am to noon. Refreshments, cakes, books and bring and buy will be on offer. A parish councillor and district councillor should be in attendance if you have any village concerns you wish to discuss, and a PCSO will call in, other duties permitting.
