Afternoon Tea Dance tomorrow at the British Legion Hall, 2-4pm, £4.50 including afternoon tea and raffle. Music by Eric Cloud. Proceeds to Sue Ryder, Thorpe Hall.

l Crowland Royal British Legion women’s section subscriptions of £6 are now due.

Deeping St James

A coffee morning in the church hall on September 20 raised £168.70, which will go towards the money distributed next year to local good causes. The next coffee morning is on November 29.

Deeping St Nicholas

Prize bingo is being held in the Jubilee Hall on Thursday, 7pm. All welcome.

Gedney Drove End

Welcome Club will meet at the village hall on Thursday at 7.30pm for the annual harvest evening with a supper and an auction of produce. Will members please bring their own cutlery and some produce for the sale. The competition will be for members’ home made sweets.

Gedney Dyke

Future bingo sessions will be tomorrow and October 17, 24 and 31.

l A table top sale will be held in the village hall on Sunday, 11am-2pm. Information on tables etc phone Peter Carter (01406 362434).

l The annual charity race night is in the village hall on Saturday, October 20, 7pm, until late, with a licensed bar. Limited tickets are £5, including hot supper, and are available from the village stores.


Gosberton is opening a community cafe in the village youth club for a trial period of eight weeks and is looking for volunteers to help with the running. About three volunteers are required for each week. The cafe will be selling home made cakes and scones. coffee, tea and squash, all available at good prices. Those interested are asked to contact 01775 840694.

l Youth Club meets at the youth centre on a Tuesday and Friday evening between 7.15pm and 9.45pm. Entry fee is just £1.50 and refreshments are available. Sports available at the club include football, badminton, unihock, carpet bowls and dodgeball. The club is provided by local volunteers for young people between the ages of 11 and 21 years. l Gosberton Public Hall Trust is having a dance in the hall on Saturday, October 27 with dancing to Mister Music.

l The Bowls and Snooker Club is having a sausage and mash supper on Saturday, October 20, in the Public Hall, 7-11pm. Entertainment will be provided in the form of a race night with the first race commencing at 7.30pm.

l There is an open flu clinic at the Gosberton Medical Centre on Saturday, 9am to noon. The Patient Link Group will be in attendance at the clinics selling raffle tickets towards the purchase of new equipment.

Gosberton Clough and Risegate

The Duke of York, Gosberton Risegate, is the venue for the Gosberton Churches Together harvest auction, quiz and beetle drive on Thursday, October 25 at 7.30pm.

l Gosberton Churches Together have a united service to mark One World Week at St Margaret’s Church, Quadring, on October 28 at 10am.


There will be a deanery drama event tomorrow at 7pm, in All Saints’ Church. Young people will be telling Old Testament stories in a lively, modern manner with music. Free entry.

l All Saints’ Ladies Group will be meeting tomorrow, 
at 7.30pm, in the Reading Room.

Moulton Chapel

The talented young people of Holbeach University Academy Chamber choir will be performing at the Methodist Church this Friday at 7pm as part of the church’s anniversary celebrations. Admission £4 including light refreshments.
