Cactus and Succulent Society
SPALDING Cactus and Succulent Society, meets at Moulton Community Centre at 7pm on the third Friday every month with a programme of interesting talks about plants, environment and wildlife. Everyone is welcome.
Free admission and refreshments. The next meeting is this Friday with an illustrated presentation by top speaker Graham Charles of highlights of his travels and the plants in his extensive collection. THERE will be a special summer holiday roller disco tomorrow 2-4pm at the community centre. Family/all skate costs is £4.80 per session. Skate hire is £1.20. Refreshments are available. On Tuesday, August 27, a beginner/family roller disco session will be from 6pm to 7.30pm with advanced and over 12s from 7.45pm to 9pm. Each session £3.80.
A CEILIDH/barn dance with music provided by the Beltonas is being held at the community centre on September 21 (7.30pm). BINGO will be held in the village hall tomorrow and on the following Wednesdays, August 21 and 28. Eyes down at 7.30pm. All welcome.
PARISH Council meets in the Public Hall next Monday at 7.30pm.
SUNDAY afternoon tea and hymns at the Methodist Church is next on August 18 at 4pm.
ST Peter and St Paul’s Church is looking for volunteers for hand bell ringing. The church has a wonderful set of handbells and would love to find some ringers who could practice to form a local group. Contact the vicar on 01775 840694.
Gosberton Clough and Risegate
RESIDENTS of Gosberton Clough and Risegate are to have a post office in the village. It will be opening for two afternoons a week in St Gilbert and St Hugh’s Church Hall. Starting on Monday, September 16, it will be open each Monday and Thursday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
ST Gilbert and St Hugh’s Church has been awarded Lottery money which has paid for disabled toilets in the church hall. It is hoped that the hall will now be used by more people.
AT the recent annual meeting of the Friends of Moulton Mill the following were re-elected: Alan Lambert, chairman of the Friends; Kathy Kearns, treasurer; Viv Prescott, minute secretary and Monica Lambert, secretary.
THE 1960s international recording star Ricky Valance will be holding a musical evening ‘My Life, My Story’ on Friday at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church. Tickets are £10 which will include light refreshments during the interval.
