THE United Reformed Church has an autumn fair in the school room on Saturday, 10-11.30am. There will be a cake stall, raffle, tombola and many other attractions.


NETWORK group meet on the first Thursday of the month at 2.30pm in the chapel for friendship, fellowship and caring, plus handicrafts.


REMEMBRANCE Service is at the parish church at 10.30am on Sunday.

Gedney Drove End

FAMILY Service of Remembrance will take place at Christ Church on Sunday at 10am. The local branch of the Royal British Legion will muster at the corner of Dawsmere Bank and Church Street at 9.30am to parade the standard to the church at 9.45am. All are welcome at the service to honour the fallen, especially remembering those from this community.

Gedney Dyke

BINGO will be held in the village hall on the following Wednesdays, November 13, 20 and 27. Eyes Down 7.30pm.

THE annual charity race night, held in the village hall on October 19, raised £1,185.85. Thanks to all who attended, people who assisted on the day, everyone who contributed raffle prizes and the race sponsors.


ROYAL British Legion Remembrance Services for Gosberton and the Clough and Risegate start at the Risegate memorial at 2pm on Sunday followed by a service at the Gosberton memorial at 2.30pm. A service follows at the St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Gosberton, at 3pm. On Armistice Day on November 11 there is a service at the Gosberton war memorial at 10.45am for 11am. The RBL is having a Christmas band concert with the Banovallum Brass at Quadring Church Hall on December 13 at 7.30pm. Tickets £6.

GOSBERTON Churches Together, with the Glen Group, meet in the Baptist Church on Thursday at 7.30pm.

NEXT film show at the Baptist Church is on Monday, November 18, at 2pm and will include films of Long Meg Stone Circle, Askham Hall and Gardens, Brough Castle, Keswick and Barnsdale Gardens. Cost is £2 and includes the usual refreshments.

LORNA Webb and her team of helpers are putting on a coffee morning on Tuesday, November 26, for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

It will be held at Mrs Webb’s Pinchbeck home from 10am to noon with all of the usual attractions.

THERE is a fun and fellowship at the Baptist Church on November 29, 2-4pm, with table games, coffee, tea and cakes.

GOSBERTON Methodists have a Christmas coffee morning on Saturday, 10am-12.30pm. Usual stalls, competitions and refreshments.

GOSBERTON Church Fellowship meets in the church hall on Monday, November 18, 7.30-9pm. Entry is £1 for members and £3 for non-members.

Lutton Marsh

LADIES Group will meet at the Methodist Chapel on Thursday at 2pm. The speaker will be member Joan Tebbs, with a talk about her experiences ‘moving house’. The autumn fair will be held at St Mary’s Church Hall in Long Sutton on Saturday, 10am to noon. Proceeds are for the Methodist Chapel and the event will include stalls, competitions, raffle, tombola and refreshments.


WOMEN’S Institute will meet on November 11 at 7.30pm in the village hall. Author Jane Robinson will talk about her book ‘A force to be reckoned with’. The competition is for ‘Your favourite WI moment’, handwritten with a maximum of 50 words. Visitors welcome.

ROBERT Wolfe, from Thursford in Norfolk, is currently on tour and will be playing the cinema organs at the Burtey Fen Collection on Sunday , November 17 at 2.30pm. Tickets are £10 and include refreshments. Call 01775 766081 for more information.

Pode Hole

PODE Hole Women’s Institute Christmas fayre is on Saturday, November 16 at the Bromley Hall, 1-3pm. There will be stalls including books, cakes and toys, a raffle and tombola and refreshments. The WI meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm. For more information phone 01775 710614.


REMEMBRANCE Service on Sunday is at St Margaret’s Church at 3pm.


THE next meeting of Spalding and District Flower Lovers’ Club takes place at the Grammar School tomorrow at 7.15pm. Ann Colby is the demonstrator.


THE November meeting of the Ladybirds has Jean Bratley showing members how to make Christmas tree decorations.

Members and guests will have a chance to make their own and are asked to bring a small pair of scissors and a small bladed knife.

Everything else needed will be in the kit which costs £1. The meeting is on Tuesday, November 12 starting at 7.30pm in the Fraiser Room next to the church. The Christmas meeting will be at the Burtey Fen Collection in Pinchbeck on December 10 at 6.30pm, so if you or your club would like join members contact Annette Rhodes on 01775 680235. The cost is £7 which includes the entertainment, tea, coffee and Christmas mince pies.

Weston Hills

MOBILE library will be in the village hall car park tomorrow, 11-11.30am.

THERE will be a service in the church of St John the Evangelist to mark the 125th anniversary of the founding of the church. Spalding’s St Mary and St Nicolas Church Choir will be singing and the preacher will be the Arch Deacon of Boston. Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome.
