PRIORY Church Coffee Group’s annual pre-Advent coffee morning on November 28 raised £353.10, which, together with other money raised will be distributed to local groups in May. Thanks to all who attended and donated items.

THE Methodist Church is having a short children’s carol service on Sunday at 10.30am to which children and adults are invited. If the children would like to dress as shepherds, sheep, wise men, stable animals, etc, they are more than welcome.
CAROLS by candlelight among the Christmas trees at the Baptist Church, on Spalding Road, is always well worth a visit and so pretty. It starts at 7pm on Thursday, December 12, and includes seasonal refreshments.

RELIEF in Need Christmas gifts will be distributed at St Gilbert and St Hugh’s Church Hall on Thursday from 2pm to 3.30pm.
DUKE of York is the venue for Gosberton and District Churches Together Christmas quiz on Thursday. £2 per person and no more than four per team. Money raised will go to the Sue Ryder Hospice Fund.
A MEGA bingo is at the WI Hall, Park Road, on Saturday. Doors open 1pm, eyes down 2pm. There will also be a fancy hat competition. All proceeds to Holbeach Air Cadets.
LADIES Group will meet at the Methodist Chapel on Thursday at 2pm. The speaker will be a representative from Edinburgh Woollen Mills and there will be an opportunity for members to buy clothes and Christmas items.
ST James Church Christmas bingo is on Thursday at 7.30pm in the youth and community centre.
WATERCOLOUR Challenge judge Granville Danny Clarke will present an evening of ‘watercolour words and music’ in the village hall at 7.30pm today. Entry £4.50.
A no-frills Christmas ceilidh is being held in St Mary’s Church Hall, Rose Lane, on Friday. Dancing starts at 7.45pm until 10.30pm, with a short break for a performance by the Slapdash Appalachian Dancers. The Beltona Band will provide the music and caller, Sue Gray, is there to help every step of the way. The emphasis is on having fun and everyone is welcome, no expertise required. Home made cakes are on sale for 50p. Tea and coffee are included in the entry fee which is £4 for adults, children under 16 are free. There is no bar but own drinks can be taken along. WOMEN’S Institute meets on Monday at the earlier time of 7pm in the village hall. Members will be entertained by the drama group and visitors are welcome.
