BICKER’S Ladies Group Christmas dinner is this Thursday, 7.30pm in the chapel schoolroom.

Deeping St James

PRIORY Church Coffee Group’s annual pre-Advent coffee morning on November 28 raised £353.10, which, together with other money raised will be distributed to local groups in May. Thanks to all who attended and donated items.


ST Mary Magdalene Church Advent fair is on Saturday and Sunday. The fair is open on Saturday from 10am until 4pm and on Sunday from 2pm, finishing with a Carol Service at 4pm. More details on 01406 424113.


DON’T forget the Relief in Need Charity Christmas Gift distribution on Thursday, in the Public Hall, 10.30am to 1pm.

BAPTIST Church is putting on a Christmas Day lunch for those who are on their own. Those wishing to go are asked to book with Janet Bullows on 01775 713341.

THE Baptists have a Christmas floral workshop on Saturday, 10am-3pm. Phone Janet Bullows on 01775 713341 to book. Three arrangements will be made and the cost is £20, includes flowers, materials, containers, etc. Take your scissors or secateurs and own lunch. Drinks will be provided.

GOSBERTON House School Christmas fayre is at the school on Friday, 1.30pm.

GOSBERTON Methodists have afternoon tea and hymns on Sunday at 4pm. For more information contact John and Enid Parson on 01205 357832.

THE Methodist Church is having a short children’s carol service on Sunday at 10.30am to which children and adults are invited. If the children would like to dress as shepherds, sheep, wise men, stable animals, etc, they are more than welcome.

CAROLS by candlelight among the Christmas trees at the Baptist Church, on Spalding Road, is always well worth a visit and so pretty. It starts at 7pm on Thursday, December 12, and includes seasonal refreshments.

Gosberton Clough and Risegate

RELIEF in Need Christmas gifts will be distributed at St Gilbert and St Hugh’s Church Hall on Thursday from 2pm to 3.30pm.

DUKE of York is the venue for Gosberton and District Churches Together Christmas quiz on Thursday. £2 per person and no more than four per team. Money raised will go to the Sue Ryder Hospice Fund.


A MEGA bingo is at the WI Hall, Park Road, on Saturday. Doors open 1pm, eyes down 2pm. There will also be a fancy hat competition. All proceeds to Holbeach Air Cadets.

Lutton Marsh

LADIES Group will meet at the Methodist Chapel on Thursday at 2pm. The speaker will be a representative from Edinburgh Woollen Mills and there will be an opportunity for members to buy clothes and Christmas items.

Moulton Chapel

ST James Church Christmas bingo is on Thursday at 7.30pm in the youth and community centre.


WATERCOLOUR Challenge judge Granville Danny Clarke will present an evening of ‘watercolour words and music’ in the village hall at 7.30pm today. Entry £4.50.

A no-frills Christmas ceilidh is being held in St Mary’s Church Hall, Rose Lane, on Friday. Dancing starts at 7.45pm until 10.30pm, with a short break for a performance by the Slapdash Appalachian Dancers. The Beltona Band will provide the music and caller, Sue Gray, is there to help every step of the way. The emphasis is on having fun and everyone is welcome, no expertise required. Home made cakes are on sale for 50p. Tea and coffee are included in the entry fee which is £4 for adults, children under 16 are free. There is no bar but own drinks can be taken along. WOMEN’S Institute meets on Monday at the earlier time of 7pm in the village hall. Members will be entertained by the drama group and visitors are welcome.

CHRISTMAS Pop-In is on Saturday in the church hall, noon-1.15pm. Cost £4 per head. Please remember there is no Pop-In in January.
A family Christingle Service is on Sunday at 10.30am at St. Mary’s Church. Uniformed organisations are attending. There will be a collection at this service of Christmas food and groceries to donate to Agape Spalding Food Centre for needy families.
MIRACLE Night - the Christmas Story told in costume and music by St Mary’s Church Choir in Surfleet Parish Church on Thursday at 7pm. Suitable for all. Refreshments. No charge but a retiring collection.


THE Christmas meeting of Spalding and District Flower Lovers Club will take place at Spalding Grammar School tomorrow at 7.15pm with Pauline Foster as demonstrator. Members are reminded to bring a Christmas wrapped parcel with a value of approximately £1.
