THE Parish Council’s best dressed houses for Christmas winners were 39 Millfield Gardens, 8 Burghley Close and 17 Postland Road.

The best dressed shop window for Christmas winners were Pick of the Bunch, Crowland Cancer Shop and Crowland Homes with highly commended Abbey Bakery, Bridge Hardware, The Copper Kettle, Frisbys and Frydays.


COFFEE and Chat is at the church hall on Saturday, 10am to noon.


PLOUGH Sunday Service will be held in Holbeach Drove Methodist Chapel this Sunday at 10.30am.

There will be no 4pm service at Gedney Hill’s Holy Trinity Church.


A Christingle service was held in the St Peter and St Paul’s church on Sunday to celebrate the 12th Day of Christmas.

The congregation paraded around the church in dimmed light so everyone could enjoy the light from the Christingles and the Christmas lights.

Donations will be made to support the Children’s Society. Christingles will be delivered to local house bound or elderly people who could not attend, including residents of Gosberton House Care Home.

MOBILE library will be in Gosberton tomorrow, Field Close, 10-11am and Godfrey Avenue 11.05am-noon.

THERE is a police surgery in the church hall on Monday, 10am-noon.

THE parish church asks readers to save their newspapers which contribute to the running costs of St Peter and St Pauls.

The church porch is open week days from 9am to 4pm in which the papers can be left. Thanks to Hilary Burt, Mike Hammond, Raymond Lindley and all helpers.

A meeting of the Gosberton Churches Together is at Gosberton Baptist on Thursday, January 16 at 7.30pm.


HOLBEACH Town Band’s next monthly bingo is at the WI Hall, Park Road, tomorrow.

The snowball has now reached up to £200. Eyes down at 7.30pm.

OASIS Club meets on Saturday in the Reading Room, Church Street, at 10am for primary school children to enjoy plenty of fun, games, stories, drama and music for free.

A bingo in aid of Peterborough City Hospital breast cancer unit is on Wednesday in the youth and community centre. Doors open at 6.30pm for eyes down at 7.30pm. Please take a raffle prize. For more information phone Ann Broderick on 01733 210543.

A Plough Service on Sunday at the Methodist Church at 10.30am will also include a talk by Jonny Walkers entitled ‘The flower and bulb industry past and present’ followed by lunch (£4). Contact D Hemmant on 01406 380443.


Spalding Ramblers will lead a circular walk this Sunday of about six miles. It will start at 10.30am from the pub car park in Tydd Gote. New members welcome. Wear suitable clothing and footwear and bring a packed lunch. Further details from the leader on 01406 371951.
