From Gosberton to Whaplode Drove

Cactus & Succulent Society

The Society will next meet on August 16 at 7pm at Moulton Community Centre. An illustrated presentation will be given by Graham Charles of highlights of his travels and the plants in his extensive collection. Free admission and refreshments. THE next meeting of the Good Companions Club is today (Tuesday) in the Public Hall at 2pm.

The Good Companions Club have just enjoyed a lovely outing to Holt and Cromer and they are now look forward to an outing to Bridlington on Tuesday, August 6, usual pick up times.

THE Parish church continues to collect newspapers and these can be left in the church porch which is open on weekdays from 9am to 4pm.

The church also saves postage stamps for St Barnabas Hospice and with a border cut round these can be left in a tub at the back of the church or handed in at Quadring post office.

THERE will be no Messy Church at Quadring during the July and August school holidays.

LOOKING ahead to September 21 the Royal British Legion is having a 75th anniversary concert in Quadring Church Hall, presented by the Banovallum Brass Band.

It starts at 7pm and tickets at £6 are available from Gene Waterfall (01775 840519 or 01775 750491), Debbie Reynolds (01775 841585) or from the vicar (01775 840694).

Donations of raffle prizes are welcome. All proceeds are for the Gosberton and District Royal British Legion.

Gosberton Clough and Risegate

BATEMANS auctioneers and valuers will be in St Gilbert and St Hugh’s Church Hall on Saturday, August 10, from 11am to 3pm. All are invited to take along items to be valued by Ron Bateman. Tickets are available from Barbara Berridge on 01775 714918. Tickets for entry are only £1 and tickets for timed valuations are £3 (friends of St Gilbert and St Hugh’s get their tickets for £1.50).

Coffee, tea and cakes are available.

Holbeach St Marks

THE Royal British Legion thanks everyone who supported the recent concert by Holbeach Town Band which made £562 for the Poppy Appeal.

Lutton Marsh

LADIES Group will meet at the Methodist Chapel on Thursday at 2pm when a representative from the Samaritans will give a talk about their work.


The U3A meets on Thursday in Pinchbeck Village Hall at 1.45pm when there will be a presentation on the RSPB in Lincolnshire.


THE Calvary Baptist Church, in Carrington, has a Holiday Bible Club running from Monday, August 5 to Friday, August 9, 10am-12.30pm daily, with an awards day on August 10 from 10am followed by a barbecue lunch.

Whaplode Drove

TEA and scones/cakes will be served in the church porch on Saturday from 2pm to 4pm.
