From Cowbit to Weston Hill


BINGO will be played tomorrow in the village hall. Doors open 6.30pm, eyes down 7.30pm. In aid of village hall funds.

COWBIT Ladies’ Club meets on Wednesday at 7.30pm when the speaker will be Jenny Hemmingway talking about her Himalayan trek; visitors welcome .


WASTE freighters will be at the groundsmen’s shed, Snowden Field, on Saturday from 8am until 11am. One takes household waste, and the second takes green waste for composting (no plastic bags please).

MONDAY evening walk on July 15 will be at Crown Lakes, Farcet. Meet at the former St Guthlac School by 6.25pm to share transport.


GOSBERTON Church Fellowship meets in the church hall on Monday at 7.30pm when the topic will be ‘The peregrine falcons at Lincoln Cathedral’. Members £1 and non members £3, which includes a raffle and refreshments. For more information contact Pat Walters on 01775 840694.

NEXT film show at the Baptist Church is on Monday, July 22 at 2pm with films on Cambridge, Bournemouth and Salisbury. Admission donation is £2 and includes afternoon tea.

LINCOLNSHIRE Police has a surgery in the church hall between 10am and noon on July 24.

GOOD Companions Club meets in the Public Hall on Tuesday at 2pm. On Tuesday, July 23, the club is looking forward to an outing to Cromer. Usual pick ups.

GOSBERTON and District Royal British Legion meet in the church hall on Wednesday, July 24, at 7.30pm.


ST Gilbert and St Hugh’s Church Hall is open for tea and coffee every Thursday, 1-3pm.


LINCOLNSHIRE Churches Trust sponsored bike ride is on September 14. Riders cycle between churches from Sutton Bridge to Whaplode or start/stop at any point on the route. For striders there will be a walking quiz around a local village. Sponsor forms and details available from Kim Biggs 01406 426631.

THERE is a meeting in the Mary Bass room at All Saints’ Church today (7.30pm) regarding the setting up of a food bank in Holbeach.


BAPTIST Church lunches will be served tomorrow 11am-1.30pm.


MERCHANT Navy Association meets at The Black Bull, Donington, this Saturday at 11am, for merchant seamen.


MOBILE library will be in the village hall car park next Wednesday.
