LOCAL Princess Diana fan Josie Williams is still pinching herself after being within an arm’s length of the royal couple on their wedding day – the second time she’d been as close to them in two years.
Josie, from Pinchbeck, attended an invitation-only event for just 250 people at Clarence House to greet William and Catherine after their marriage.
In 2009 she and Wendy Ablett, from Spalding, were on holiday outside the church when they were informally ushered into William’s cousin Laura Fellowes’ wedding in Snettisham and she photographed him and Catherine.
She said this week: “I got an invitation to Clarence House as a Mother’s Day present from my daughter-in-law and it was just lovely. We were ushered in through the house and came out with a front row view when William and Kate arrived about 4pm. William saw his old nanny and went right over to her and hugged her. They were both so close I could have touched them. This time I’d had the chance to dress properly!”
