A developer has vowed to use local labour, apprentices and sub contractors on the construction of 103 homes in Holbeach.

A Gleeson Homes development was passed this month by South Holland District Council for land north of Northons Lane in the town.

The company has now revealed that the development will be known as Tulip Fields.

It says construction work will begin this winter with the first homes to be released in summer 2022, three show homes to open in the autumn and the first residents moving in in time for Christmas 2022.

As part of the planning process, Gleeson agreed to pay £547,112 'section 106' money towards education and school places, and £68,598 towards the NHS.

Tulip Fields will include a cycle link, a child's play area and bird and bat boxes on 10% of the homes.

Allen Marshall, Operations Director at Gleeson said: “We are delighted to be bringing 103 fantastic new homes primarily for first time buyers and young families to Holbeach.

"We are pleased to be championing the area, supporting the community with our affordable homes and employing a workforce on site that will be made up of local labour and contractors. Our Section 106 donations will help fund school places and improvements to education in the area and we will be protecting local wildlife and boosting ecology with our plans."
