Spalding police appeal for information after receiving reports of an assault on a delivery driver

A delivery driver has reported an assault in Spalding.

Police say they have received reports that a driver was assaulted, but not seriously injured, in Wygate Road, today (Thursday).

Officers have also received reports of a parcel and a bag containing a wallet and keys being stolen. The parcel was later recovered.

Two men, aged 32 and 40, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in custody.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.

"We would like to express our thanks to the people who came to the aid of the delivery driver and those who also helped our officers to find the suspects."
