Deeping St Nicholas mum Kate Perry got the fundraising ball rolling for a skate park in the village when she raised £432 with a St George’s Day event on the village green.
Families enjoyed games such as jousting and welly wanging and there was also a bouncy castle. This was the first fundraising effort for the proposed skate park and the mum of two teenagers said: “There is a youth club for the under-10s in the village but nothing for the older ones. I intend to raise more money and try to get grants as we badly need something for the teenagers.” She is pictured presenting a cheque to parish council chairman Nicholas Watts. (SG180515-201TW)
