A country tradition that has gone on for centuries is being re-created at Baston on Saturday.
Immaculately turned out horse ploughing teams will be one of the major attractions at Deeping Ploughing Match & Show.
The event, organised by Deeping and District Agricultural Society for the past 70 years, has attracted four classes in the vintage section in recent years. The ploughing men in nine classes are judged on elements like straightness, and go on to be considered for champion ploughman.
The match is at Thetford House Farm, Baston, from 9.15am and the horses carry on until 2pm. There are also trade stands, garden tractors and refreshments. Entry £4, children free.
