DEDICATED charity fundraisers have been rewarded for a combined service of more than 120 years.

Members of the Spalding and Holbeach Macmillan Cancer Support committee went along to Willow Tree Farm in Deeping St Nicholas for the presentation of a series of long service awards.

Awards were handed out by Lady Halifax, President of Macmillan Cancer Support, and reflected the number of years served on the committee as of 2010. Bronze awards were given to those serving five to nine years, silver for 10 to 14 years, gold for 15 to 19 years and the top platinum award for more than 20 years, earned by Christine Branton.

Those receiving awards have given 127 years service, but when other committee members’ service is considered the branch total is 134 years.
