A train service between Peterborough and Spalding was today cancelled after a cyclist went onto the track at Werrington.

A spokesman for East Midlands Trains said the 14.41 Lincoln to Peterborough train completed its journey to Peterborough, but the driver “was quite shaken by it” and that train’s return journey was cancelled as a result.

No one was injured in the incident.

The spokesman said: “It’s completely resolved and the trains are running on time.”
