Repairs planned for Hulls Drove, Crowland

A drought-damaged section of Hulls Drove in Crowland, between the A16 and Martins Drove, is to be repaired next week.

The work is due to take place on Wednesday and Thursday and will require the road to be closed during the day-time, with a signed diversion route put in place.

The local highways manager said: "The long, hot summer has had an impact on the road and it's starting to show the signs of drought damage.

"So we're going in to make sure it remains safe for motorists until we're in a position to arrange more long-term repairs.

"There will be some short-term inconvenience while the works are carried out, for which we apologise, and we'd advise drivers to allow additional time for their journeys and use alternative routes where possible."
