Between 40 and 50 people enjoyed a Musical Extravaganza at Crowland Methodist Church on Saturday.

The event was arranged as part of the church’s centenary celebrations.

Organiser and master of ceremonies Mick Goodman said the concert revolved around the church organ, played by Pauline Marriott and Tim Galley. In addition, Colin Faulkner played violin and viola, there were solo items from Jordan Howlett and Mick, and a group led by Sue Barnes performed songs from the musicals accompanied by recorders, clarinet and piano.

Mick said: “There was classical music, music from the musicals, Jordan sang a couple of numbers from Les Mis and I sang I Believe. This is the second one we have done. The first was an organ recital and we are planning to do one each quarter and the organ will be the centre of it all.”

The event was held to raise money to maintain the church and resulted in £235 being collected.
