Crop sprayer fire in Gedney Hill

Firefighters from Long Sutton attended a crop sprayer on fire at Highstock Lane, Gedney Hill yesterday (Monday) morning.

There was severe fire damage to a quantity of hydraulic oil and the engine compartment of the sprayer, after the fire at 8.35am.

It was extinguished using one hose reel and the cause was a burst pipe which spilt hydraulic oil on to a hot engine which ignited.
