Security staff watching CCTV saw a man hide a bottle of wine and a smoked sausage in his clothes.
Samuel Goemans (29), of Porthouse Drive, Pinchbeck, was stopped outside B & M Bargains, in Winsover Road, Spalding, and arrested.
Shelley Wilson, prosecuting, told Spalding magistrates Goemans had no previous convictions, but was cautioned in August for a similar act of shoplifting.
Goemans, who pleaded guilty, said: “I did it on both occasions because I was sanctioned by the Job Centre.”
His job seekers allowance has now resumed. Goemans was conditionally discharged for six months and must pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
