POLICE want help from shoppers in Holbeach over a hit-and-run incident.
A pedestrian was knocked down by a car on Monday night. The driver did not stop at the scene.
The incident took place outside the Tesco store in Boston Road South between 10.30pm and 10.45pm and left a Spalding man with a suspected broken nose as well as cuts and bruises.
Officers say the victim is lucky not to have suffered even more serious injuries after he was knocked over by a blue Vauxhall Corsa.
The pedestrian was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital for treatment.
Police have since arrested an 18-year-old teenager from Holbeach.
He has been bailed on suspicion of dangerous driving and leaving the scene of a road traffic collision.
Officers say they are keen to hear from anyone who saw the incident happen to help them establish the circumstances of the incident.
They believe a number of people were in the area at the time and the supermarket was still open at the time so police hope there are a number of shoppers who can help them with their investigation.
PC Paul Freeman said: “It was fortunate that the victim did not sustain more serious injuries as a result of the collision and we are keen to piece together the circumstances of how it occurred and the events leading up to it.
“There were a number of people present at the scene at the time who would have seen what happened, and the Tesco store was still open, so I am hoping that witnesses will come forward to help with the investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to telephone PC Paul Freeman on 0300 1110300.
