Police are today (Saturday) warning residents in The Suttons – which include Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge – to be on their guard following a spate of burglaries over the past week.
The warning comes from PCSO Antonietta Gordon, of The Suttons Neighbourhood Policing Team, who says there have also been reports of people behaving suspiciously in the area.
She said: “Please could I ask all residents to check their properties before leaving either for work or going out for the day, even if it is just to pop to the shops for a few minutes.”
PCSO Gordon said all windows and doors should be checked to see if they are locked and if locks are working correctly.
She is also urging residents to keep their security lighting in good order, replacing bulbs where necessary.
PCSO Gordon said: “If any suspicious behaviour or vehicles come to residents’ attention then please report this to police on the 101 number as soon as possible – vehicle registration numbers or descriptions of persons would be very beneficial but residents are not to put themselves in any danger obtaining the details.”
Crime Prevention information is available from The Suttons Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Residents can email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 101 and ask for any PCSO on The Suttons Neighbourhood Policing Team.
