Police surgeries called off

Have your say

POLICE are halting one day a week surgeries at The Curlew Centre in Sutton Bridge because so few members of the public have turned out.

PC Laura Griggs told Sutton Bridge Parish Council that officers had only had eight visitors in the last three months.

Parish and district councillors Chris Brewis and Michael Booth said they were disappointed as they had agreed to fund the police office for a year.

Coun Brewis said the whole idea was to maintain a police presence in the village.

He would be happy to see officers call in for a cup of tea when they are passing through because people would then see the patrol car and know the police were there.
