Police are warning owners of certain car models to be alert to catalytic converter thieves.
Lincolnshire Police has seen a rise in recent months of catalytic converters stolen from Honda Accord V-Type and VTECs, registered between 1998 and 2004.
Other models targeted are four-wheel drive Fords, Mazdas and Toyotas, as well as Mercedes Sprinter Vans and Peugeot 307s which also continue to be vulnerable to catalytic converter theft.
A police spokesman said: “Thieves are quickly able to remove the catalytic converters from these vehicles and, whilst the cost of replacement of the converters themselves may not seem high, owners can be left with expensive repair bills due to the additional damage being done to the vehicles during the theft.”
