Two men from Holbeach have been fined £800 each after they were found guilty of hunting and trespassing in Sutton St James.

William Gaskin (37) and Mark Gaskin (40), both of Rose View Drive, Holbeach, were convicted of hunting a wild mammal with a dog and trespassing in pursuit of game after a trial at Boston Magistrates Court.
The pair were seen with a lurcher dog that was chasing a hare on November 27 2013 and police officers from the Operation Galileo anti-hare coursing team searched the Gaskins’ Subaru Forrester, finding binoculars, a slip lead and two lurcher dogs in the boot.

The Gaskins claimed they were walking the lurcher but a judge at Boston Magistrates Court found them guilty and, as well as the fines, they were ordered to pay £300 costs and the Subaru was to be seized.
