A SERIAL child sex offender from Sutton Bridge has been put behind bars for 15 years for a string of offences.

Colin Minns, of Chalk Lane in Sutton Bridge, was sentenced for a long list of depraved crimes – including rape and sex with a child aged under 13.

Minns (51) was caged, disqualified from working with children and put on the Sex Offenders’ Register by Lincoln Crown Court.

He was found guilty of three charges of indecent assault on a female, one of assault on a girl under the age of 13 involving penetration, three counts of sexual activity on a girl, four counts of rape and another four of sexual assault on a girl under the age of 13.

A further six charges will remain on his file.

Lincolnshire Police declined to provide a picture of Minns and decided not to release a statement on the case, which was dealt with by the court on April 13.

The Spalding Guardian understands that Minns was an employee of Lincolnshire County Council until last year. It is thought that he carried out maintenance work.

He was also said to have dug graves in Sutton Bridge.

The Spalding Guardian also understands that Minns faces a further animal cruelty case at Spalding Magistrates’ Court in the coming weeks.

The RSPCA is set to pursue a charge of failing to meet the welfare needs of some chickens.
