Criminal drank cider during court order session

Have your say

A MAN who drank from a two litre bottle of cider during an unpaid work session was returned to court on Thursday and had another ten hours added to his original 80-hour order.

Igors Filimonovs (41), of Cross Street, Spalding, was behaving “erratically” on September 2.

Probation officer Chris Payne said a supervisor approached Filimonovs, noticed he smelled of alcohol and saw he had a plastic carrier bag that contained an empty two litre bottle of cider.

Filimonovs initially denied drinking, but eventually admitted “having had a little”.

Mr Payne said the rules about alcohol were explained when Filimonovs began his work order on July 25 for an offence of driving while disqualified.

Filimonovs, who admitted the breach, told Spalding magistrates: “I would like to finish this unpaid work and I am prepared to work every day.”
