Businessman to face trial

Filipino businessman and basketball promoter John Eric Valmoria, of Spalding, is to go on trial at Lincoln Crown Court on a charge of fraud and theft by false representation. It is alleged that he received a cheque for £4,500 from an elderly resident of the Bungalow Care Home, in Spalding, where he was manager, and paid it into his own bank account.

On Friday, Valmoria of Pennygate, was told by his Honour Judge Sean Morris that the trial will start on June 23 next and is expected to last five days.
