A SPALDING man has been jailed for 18 weeks after he threatened to hit a supermarket worker with a bottle.

Anthony Holmes (30), of Pinchbeck Road, was sentenced by Spalding magistrates on Tuesday after pleading guilty to the public order offence.

He had been arrested on April 29 after threatening to hit a female Sainsbury’s staff member who asked him if he had been drinking.

He had been trying to buy two bottles of Smirnoff vodka and two bottles of WKD Red at the time.
