CHILDREN and some squeamish parents got their hands dirty when Zoolab visited the Willows Day Nursery at Fleet.

More than 30 children aged from one to 11, enjoyed an hour-long hands-on presentation

Children were able to find out about a range of minibeasts, reptiles and small animals including a giant African snail, a giant millipede, a rat, snakes, tree frogs – which climbed the conservatory wall – a cockroach, a scorpion and a tarantula.

Vicky Pitts, of the nursery, said: “The children were very well behaved and most of the creatures were well behaved too!”
