Planners give permission for 32 new homes in Cowbit

By Daniel Jaines, Local Democracy Reporter

Developers will build 32 affordable homes in Cowbit after getting the go-ahead to more than double the original figure from South Holland District Council.

Cowbit Homes wants to develop land south of Moulton Chapel Road which already had planning permission for 17 homes with just one-third of them to be affordable.

Documents submitted to the authority said the new homes would “result in a legible, attractive extension to the village in a landscaped setting”.

“Within the development, the variety in house types will help to create establish a neighbourhood character.

“Overall, the scheme demonstrates a good standard of architecture, appropriate layout and effectively landscaping and therefore delivers the aims of national policy in respect of good design.

“The proposals will preserve the amenity of existing residents, and will provide a good standard of accommodation for future residents.”

The report said the move, which includes a new road, would create eight three-bed houses, 14-two bed homes, four two-bed bungalows and six one-bed maisonettes.
