Plans to boost pay and conditions for South Holland's bin lorry drivers go to workers
Councillors gave their seal of approval to plans to improve the pay and conditions of the district’s bin lorry drivers.
South Holland District Council has been hit by the widespread lorry driver shortage and wants to reduce its reliance on agency staff.
Members were asked to agree to a new deal - which includes training and career progression - at their full meeting last week.
A debate and vote was taken in closed session due to the matter being deemed confidential.
Members passed the plan, which will now go forward for a consultation with staff.
