A TOP councillor promised to add more coat rails to the South Holland Centre after complaints about the lack of places to hang coats at functions.

Speaking at last week’s full council meeting, Coun Doug Best said: “There’s one coat rail containing 29 secondhand coat hangers for the whole of the building and when there’s a function most of the stuff ends up on the floor.

“When all the coat hangers are taken people tend to throw things on the top and they all fall on to the floor.

“It’s a shame with a building like that that we have only got one secondhand coat rail.”

Council deputy leader Nick Worth responded by saying that he was aware of the problem and would try to ensure it was sorted in future.
