Council car park subsidy for firm

Have your say

DISTRICT councillor Chris Brewis wants to know if the council-run car park in Albion Street, Spalding, is run at a low fee as an indirect subsidy to a private firm.

He said charges produce just £520 a year – equal to 3p per space per day – and described it as an “outrageous anomaly”.

At Wednesday’s council meeting, he asked: “Is this an indirect subsidy to a private firm?”

Deputy leader Coun Paul Przyszlak said: “I certainly don’t know the answer.”
