Sutton Bridge to get a community wood?

A community wood extending to two acres could come to Sutton Bridge.

Coun Chris Brewis aired the suggestion at the parish council meeting last week.

He suggested the wood could be built on parish council owned land - although the site has yet to be identified - and young people could be involved in planting the area.

"It seems an opportune time to do it," he said. "I am floating the idea now and then looking into suitable accessible places."

The council unanimously supported the idea in principle, and Coun Brewis said the council will ultimately decide on the site and whether to go ahead.
