Worldwide Halloween ComicFest comes to Strange Apparitions in Pinchbeck
Comic books, superheroes and science fiction are all still as popular today as ever - as Alex Hunt has proved with the opening of his new shop in Pinchbeck.
Strange Apparitions, based at Spalding Lifestyle Centre on Spalding Road, opened in May this year, and on Saturday, October 27, the shop will be part of the worldwide Halloween ComicFest.
The event will run from 10am-5pm at the shop on the day.
“Halloween ComicFest has been going about 20 years,” Alex explained,
“I got in touch with the people who run it and said I wanted to run it here.”
The store will be one of a host of comic shops around the world celebrating the second largest event in the comic book industry.
It is open to all ages from children, to teens to adults.
“People are welcome to dress up and we’ll be giving away special Halloween comics on the day,” Alex added.
“We’ve amassed quite a few followers since we’ve opened, with people coming from Boston and Lincoln.
“I think with all the movies out at the moment, comics have just exploded.
“We sell every single comic you can think of, including Goosebumps, Hellboy, Hellblazer, Archie’s Madhouse and Frankenstein.
“The most popular comic we sell is Deadpool.
“My favourite comic is ‘Shangai Red’. It’s a revenge story, set in Portland in America and I just like the setting.”
And Alex added that also in the store on the day of Halloween ComicFest will be rare action figures including Jaws - from the terrifying Steven Spielberg film.
