HELP fill Santa’s Suitcase – and put a smile on the faces of children in hospital this Christmas.

That’s the appeal being made by the Anglia Co-operative Travel branches at Spalding, Market Deeping and Bourne.

Each branch has a suitcase it is aiming to fill with toys which will be donated to Peterborough’s City Hospital.

Appeal co-ordinator Carol Price, a sales consultant at the Spalding travel branch in the Beales department store, said: “We have been running Santa Suitcase Christmas toys appeals for a number of years, but it’s the first time all three branches have joined together.

“We hope local people will help us fill the cases with toys, books, games, puzzles and cuddlies.

“In the past they’ve been very generous with their gifts and this year the toys will be going to a hospital that serves the area covered by all three branches.”

Zoe Wilkinson, play service co-ordinator at the Peterborough City Hospital, said: “Santa’s Suitcase is a brilliant idea. The donated toys will be given as presents to the children and will also be used on the ward and in the outpatients’ area to create a home-from-home experience for children in the hospital over Christmas.”

If you can help fill Santa’s Suitcase, take your gift to the Anglia Co-operative Travel branches in the Beales department store in Spalding Market Place; at 7 The Precinct, The Deepings Centre, Market Deeping; or 1 Abbey Road, Bourne, by 5pm on Friday, December 9.
