Co-op staff are swapping their day jobs for a few hours to join environmental groups and councils to do jobs like litter-picking and freshening up fences with a lick of paint.

Lincolnshire Co-op community co-ordinator Danielle Budworth said "This year is our biggest yet and we're joining onto lots of clean ups that have been organised by local green groups and councils across Lincolnshire and Newark.

"Our aim is to get some of our colleagues to lend a hand at these events as well as spread the word and get more of the public involved.

"We can't wait to help these groups so they can continue to make a positive difference to the environment in our communities."
