M&S delay closure of Spalding store until next year
A food store which was earmarked for closure will remain open until next year.
Marks & Spencer has confirmed that it has delayed closing the Foodhall in Holland Market.
The firm announced earlier this year that it was going to close the store in April but delayed the closure after the coronavirus pandemic hit.
A spokesman said: "We have made the decision to delay the closure for the Spalding store until next year.
"We will keep the community updated as things evolve and once we have decided the right time to close the store."
The news has been welcomed by South Holland District Councillor Gary Taylor.
He said in a social media post: "Some encouraging news to report.Spalding Marks and Spencers are now going to be trading until February next year.We need to persuade them to commit their long term plans for our area."
