Citizens Advice appeal for volunteers

Have your say

VOLUNTEERS are urgently needed to give valuable help and advice to South Holland residents.

The area’s Citizens Advice Bureau is appealing for people to come forward who have six hours a week to spare and would be willing to train as gateway assessors to listen to people’s needs and direct them to the most relevant services.

Recruitment is an ongoing process as many gateway assessors progress to become full advisors. Full training is given and travel expenses are paid, as well as parking costs.

As well as the office in Spalding’s The Crescent, the CAB also offers sessions in Holbeach and Long Sutton twice a week and is hoping to extend to Sutton Bridge at the new community centre in January.

Volunteers willing to be receptionists or provide admin support are also needed, particularly people prepared to scan documents to reduce the amount of paperwork the CAB has to deal with.
