BAD weather forced a last minute change of venue for a church garden fete.

The summer fundraising event for Gosberton Clough Methodist Chapel was going to be held in one of the organisers’ homes, but the washout weather put paid to those plans and it was moved to the local chapel.

But that did not stop the church from raising almost £300 towards building maintenance – with the sale of a range of tasty cakes bringing in almost half of the total.

Organiser Molly Drakard said: “The bad weather did hinder us a bit and stopped some people from coming, but it was still a successful event.”
