1st Whaplode Drove Brownies have been chosen as winners of the village’s annual Christmas tree competition.
St John the Baptist Church was open to visitors over two weekends giving them the chance to vote for their favourite trees.
The church was full last Sunday evening for the carol service, during which certificates, prizes and the engraved plate were presented by Rev Richard Morrison.
This is the eighth year of the competition and the overall winning tree was decorated by 1st Whaplode Drove Brownies, who have entered a tree every year and were runners up last year.
This year second place went to W H Brand Ltd with Jane Sivers and Sue Bright (last year’s winners) in third place.
